Driver fined over 80-mile trip with vehicle damage

A man has been fined after attempting to drive 80 miles from the Highlands to Moray with a shattered windscreen.

Police stopped the driver on the A9 near Invergordon.

The man, who said an object had damaged the glass, had continued his journey to Elgin after being told it would take several days for repairs.

He had three penalty points added to his licence and was fined £100.
