Football bus crash trial told brakes worked
An expert has told the trial of a bus driver accused of killing a football fan in a crash there were no defects in the vehicle’s brakes.
Robert Handley, an enforcement officer with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, gave evidence at the trial of Callum Phillips, who denies killing Ryan Baird by dangerous driving on the way to a Rangers match in October 2016.
He was driving the Nith Valley Rangers supporters bus to a match against Partick Thistle when it crashed at Crossroads roundabout near Kilmarnock.
