Wood Group wins work for German biotech site

A b e r d e e n - b a s e d e n e rg y and engineerin­g ser vices heavyweigh­t Wood Group has secured a multi- mil - lion- pound contract for a biotech facilit y in Germany.

The firm said its deal with Teva Biotech would see it provide engineerin­g, proc u r e me n t , c o n s t r u c t i o n m a n a g e m e n t , c o m m i s - sioning and qualificat­ion f or t he new f acili t y t o b e built in Ulm.

The pl a nt wil l pr o duce pharmaceut­ical i ngredients from cell cultures in a new eight- storey building to b e constructe­d within Teva’s existing biotech site.

Robin Watson, chief executive of Wood Group, said: “T h i s c o n t r a c t r e f l e c t s Teva’s trust in our ability to execute projects of this size in Germany and validates o u r g l o b a l e x p e r t i s e i n the developmen­t of active pharmaceut­ical ingredient facilities.”
