Baltic landing: US Marines demonstrate the ‘commitment and solidarity’ of Nato

US Marines take a part in a landing operation during a military Exercise Baltops 2018 at the Baltic Sea near village Nemirseta in Klaipeda district, some 211 miles north of the capital Vilnius, Lithuania yesterday. A major Us-led military exercise with 18,000 soldiers from 19 primarily Nato countries has kicked off in the alliance’s eastern flank involving Poland and the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. The US Army Europe said that the Saber Strike 18 drill is spread around the region until 15 June as “a demonstration of the commitment and solidarity of the Alliance”.
