Tech start-up launches bid to raise £500,000

0 Stirling-based venture Miigen was founded by Craig J Lemmon, left, and Campbell Ferrier An online social platform enabling older people to create a digital record of their lives has launched a six-figure crowdfundi­ng bid, to “significan­tly” widen its investor base and accelerate its developmen­t including new hires.

Miigen is looking to raise £500,000 in 90 days, with investors being invited to contribute a minimum of £100 for one share. Ownership of 10 per cent of the start-up, which is backed by Scottish Enterprise and intends to sign up 10 million users by 2023, will be available and investment­s will be eligible for the Enterprise Investment Scheme.

It comes after a first-round investment exercise in July looking to raise £150,000 secured £250,000. Another funding round will be held in the US in 2019 with the aim of raising $10 million (£7.5m).

Co-founder Craig J Lemmon said: “The appetite for investment in Miigen has already been amply demonstrat­ed in our pre-seed funding. We expect this next funding round to be equally successful.”
