Teenager Kira Noble who has fought cancer three times has been given the all clear by doctors.

After her family and friends raised more than £300,000 for neuroblastoma treatment in New York, the 15-year-old has returned to Craiglockhart, Edinburgh ready to get back to a “normal life”.

Last month Kira successfully had her tumour removed after a gruelling seven hours of surgery.

The teenager revealed she was in “a total daze” whendoctorsatthememorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre (MSKCC) unveiled scans showing the operation had been successful.

Firrhill High School pupil Kira was diagnosed with the condition – a rare and aggressive form of cancer which attacks the nerve cells – aged 11.

After going into remission, testslastyearrevealed the disease had returned. But after hearing about the pioneering work of surgeons at the New York hospital, her family decided that they were the right people to help.

Kira’s fundraising appeal inspired hundreds of people to donate. She now faces the start of what she hopes is her last round of chemotherapy at the Sick Kids Hospital this week,
