Car ‘could have been deliberately driven at victim’

Police are investigating a possible deliberate hitand-run in Inverclyde.

A man was struck by a car about 1:15am on Wednesday in an incident on St Lawrence Street in Greenock.

The vehicle sped away from the scene. The 22-year-old made his way to Inverclyde Hospital.

Officers are trying establish if the car, which was dark coloured and with damaged windows, was driven deliberately at the man.

Detectives are also investigating reports of a disturbance around the time of the incident.
