OAP, 69, is held over Highlands cocaine bust

An OAP has been charged after being caught with a car load of cocaine in the Highlands.

The 69-year-old man was stopped by police in Inverness where officers recovered a quantity of cocaine with a value of approximat­ely £28,000.

The drugs were recovered from a car in Longman Road on Thursday evening.

He was charged to appear Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Steven Mccabe said: “We rely on the support of our communitie­s and members of the public to help.”
