Rank stupidity

Aberdeen city council has agreed to increase taxi fares in Aberdeen, which is going to be the straw that will break the back of the taxi trade in the city. Existing fares are the highest in Scotland and travelling from the airport to town during the peak period incurs charges that are nothing short of a king’s ransom.

This ill-advised decision will force many Aberdeen travellers on to the bus system which, while also expensive, is a much cheaper alternative. DENNIS FORBES GRATTAN
