Where’s Donald?

-

Scotland’s new justice minister has called for “further clarity” on US President Donald Trump’s visit to Scotland in order to help police preparations for the event. Humza Yousaf advised that anyone planning to attend one of the several planned protests against the visit of the US president should do so “safely and peacefully”.

I bow to Humza’s considerably greater experience in this area, but I am struggling to understand why he needed to make any announcement at all. Is it too much to expect those who are well paid to do a job to just do it and not go running to the press when they realise it’s been X days since they were last in the press?

Discless This is going to be £5 million wasted on police protection instead of helping the poor.

Tory Tory Tory

The British are paying for this policing and so they’re in charge. Rest assured they won’t be telling Humza anything.

Is Yousaf some sort of dummy? What’s not to understand? Like him or loathe him, Trump is US president and must get whatever protection necessary. Just get on with your job and stop trying to manufacture a grievance where none is justified.

It does rather come across like he is inviting protest to occur.

Little Goose Don’t worry Yousaf, he’s not coming to see you.
