Self-destructive?

Burberry’s feeble and somewhat Trumpian response to being publicly humiliated for the wasteful destruction of £28 million worth of surplus luxury goods was to suggest that the company was actually being environmentally friendly by harnessing the energy generated by the incineration process.

This is like a hardened criminal convicted of bludgeoning someone to death with a cricket bat seeking to mitigate the act by claiming the murder weapon was responsibly sourced from sustainablymanaged timber plantations.
