When people go to the polls to vote on something the result has to be respected, if it isn’t it’s the beginning of the end. Once you have people declaring they will use democracy to defeat democracy, you’re dealing with fascism, it is that simple.

I know it’s hard to believe, but this nation prospered before it joined the EU and it will do so after we leave. We as people complain about the lack of democratic accountabi­lity in places like China, Cuba, Iran etc. The EU is actually no better.

I am the lawman Let’s imagine this “sensible” group win were to thwart the UK government – what then? Are they to come up with a plan which keeps us in the EU in all but name, win parliament­ary support and then, as they have been campaignin­g for, put it to the British people and, if so, what do they do when the British people reject it?
