Edinburgh city centre could become a “largely traffic free zone” under a radical proposal to be put to the public. One of three options put forward by the city council says “key streets could be pedestrian­ised”.

Great idea! Who needs a car anyway. When I finish work, I’ll just cycle to school to collect the children, we can all balance on the crossbar as we wobble off to the supermarke­t to get the groceries. Then we can balance our eco paper shopping bags on our heads as we climb the hill homeward.
