WHAT DO YOU FEEL LIKE DOING TODAY?

-

I want to watch some cute cat videos…

You’ve heard of Youtube, right? But since you’re here, though, head to Heroes @ the Hive at 3:20pm for Cat Pictures to Music For An Hour, a show which is apparently literally that, and whose press release consists entirely of cat noises. (Our favourite line: "Meow Meow Meow you f***ing people Meow.") Early responses suggest it could be this year’s Come Look at the Baby.

I just want to see some magic tricks...

You could spend your entire day watching magic shows at the Fringe if you want to. We suggest you begin the afternoon with Card Ninja (Gilded Balloon, 1:30pm), then head over to the Voodoo Rooms for #Dave: Literally the Best Magician (4:50pm), which will give you just about enough time to get back to the old town for Adam Patel (Sweet Grassmarket, 6:40pm), followed by a final dash over to the Gilded Balloon in time for Ben Hart (8:15pm). If you have any energy left after that you could head back to the Voodoo Rooms for the Magic Faraway Cabaret at 10:30pm. You’re welcome. Don’t forget to eat something.

I want to see something by Oscar Wilde...

A Wilde day awaits you. Theatre legend Simon Callow is performing De Profundis, the letter Wilde wrote to his lover Alfred “Bosie” Douglas while in jail, today at the Assembly Rooms (12:30pm). The children’s company Tall Stories are doing their hit children’s show Wilde Creatures – an hour of Wilde’s fairy tales with music – at the Pleasance (2:50pm). A very different take on Wilde is on offer later on in Adelaide award-winning cabaret hit Earnest and Wilde: Let’s Face the Music (and Franz) ,a “hilarious hour of misinterpreted musical history” at C Royale at 7:55pm. You can then finish your day with the deliciously disrespectful The Importance of Being Earnest as Performed by Three F***ing Queens and a Duck (thespace on the Mile, 9:30pm).
