Aberdeen-headquartered oil well clean-up and abandonment specialist Coretrax is gearing up for further growth after a successful half-year trading, with a turnover of more than £5 million so far.

Coretrax has taken on 30 new staff in the past year and plans to recruit up to 20 more across engineering, management and technical disciplines by the end of 2017, following new international contracts.

The company, which sup- ports global drilling, completion and end-of-life operations, also secured a trio of well abandonment contracts with North Sea operators, including Spirit Energy.

Founder and managing director Kenny Murray said: “Continuing to invest in our people and products whilst putting time and energy into tenders has contributed to a record performance so far this year. New drilling and completions projects in the Middle East and long-term contracts in Saudi Arabia continue to drive revenue.”
