Jack Knox: Concrete Block

The late Jack Knox is currently having a major retrospective at GOMA in Glasgow. He was a big figure in Scottish art. He presided over the painting school in Glasgow when it was at its most creative, but he was most familiar as the author of wonderfully lucid and direct paintings and drawings in which somehow the complex seemed simple without losing its complexity.
