Hot weather warning by hedgehog home

-

A small hedgehog charity has warned the recent warm weather has left its hospital filled to capacity.

Unusually hot summer weather has made it difficult for many hedgehogs to access enough water and food.

A spokeswoman from The Forth Hedgehog Hospital, in Dunfermline, Fife said: “I’ve never seen so many really thin and dehydrated hedgehogs, adults in particular. I’ve seen a difference this year. They are so dehydrated – it’s been terrible.”

The charity currently has a total of 37 hedgehogs in its care.
