You cannot judge a season on performances against Rangers at Ibrox, but it is difficult to look past another communication breakdown among the Saints defenders for a second week in a row, particularly just prior to Rangers’ first of the game.

However, Alan Stubbs can take positivity away from another solid performance by Danny Mullen. Following his brace against Dundee, he caused the Rangers defence a lot of bother and was unlucky not to score with a speculative effort from long range.

Nicolai Brock-madsen made some intelligent runs at times in a difficult debut for the club. If he can build upon this performance, he will certainly be a welcome addition to the squad.
