Tavernier switch-off

James Tavernier’s switching off cost us three points against Motherwell. From now on, he should be left up the park to help with counterattacks or on the post . Man-marking isn’t his forte. However, Kyle Lafferty showed why Steven Gerrard brought him back. He took his two goals well and seemed to be forming an instant understanding with Alfredo Morelos.

For the massively important games this week, I hope the manager goes with the back four. The back three didn’t work for me, but it will be useful in games throughout the season. It’s time for the tried and tested on Thursday and Sunday, against Ufa and Celtic. We can absolutely get two favourable results – we have to, or the positive vibes will quickly be gone.
