May stands firm

-

SNP MP Angus Macneil confidently states there will be another Scottish independence referendum within 12 months because of Brexit (your report, 5 September) Really? Theresa May has repeatedly made clear in public and to Mr Macneil’s boss, Nicola Sturgeon, that “now is not the time”– and that there won’t be another separation referendum during this Holyrood term, ie 2021. Mrs May is tough on little but she is resolute on indyref2 not happening anytime soon.

We know from SNP budgets that numeracy skills aren’t an SNP establishment strength – perhaps Mr Macneil genuinely believes “within 12 months” means sometime beyond 2023?
