Springfield submits plan for Glasgow regeneration
Springfield Properties, the Scottish housebuilder, has submitted a detailed planning application to construct more than 200 homes on a derelict site in Dalmarnock, Glasgow.
The firm has sent the plans to Glasgow City Council to transform the 2.3-hectare site – which has been neglected since 1960 – into a new urban hub for the east end.
Springfield, which floated on the stock market last autumn, is looking to build two and three-bedroom homes in four, five and sixstorey apartment blocks, as well as a retail outlet.
The proposed development sits within the area covered by the Clyde Gateway regeneration programme – an initiative by Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council and Scottish Enterprise to regenerate 840-hectares of the east end over a period running up to 2028.
Springfield Properties group partnership managing director, Tom Leggeat, said: “We’re excited to play our part by building 237 affordable good quality homes. It will bring new jobs to the area.”
