Aflexible home, one which can accommodate changing family needs, is a consideration when buying which could save a buyer a huge amount of money in moving fees and transaction tax over a lifetime.

Few of us are likely to spend our whole lives in the same house as most would a century ago, but a house with flexibility built-in should future-proof against the need for an expensive move every time our circumstances change.

A choice of layout, with the opportunity to adapt a house along the way – when the family grows, or children leave home for example – is a bonus to many buyers.

Stewart Milne Homes has launched the Loanhead home at Regency Place, Countesswells which can be configured internally eight different ways.

The property has been designed specifically to adapt to the changing needs of family life and can have either three, four or five bedrooms set over three spacious levels.

The ground level features a spacious living room and kitchen with dining space and laundry zone. This area can be two separate rooms or one open plan space.

Upper levels can include three, four or five bedrooms. The first level can feature either two bedrooms and a family bathroom or three bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities in addition to a family bathroom.

The upper floor can be home to two single bedrooms or can be reserved solely for the master bedroom complete with walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room, creating a luxurious space to unwind and relax.

John Low, managing director of Stewart Milne Homes, says: “No two families are the same and the Loanhead has been designed to enable buyers to create a home that suits the specific needs of their family depending on their individual life stages.

“This flexible approach has become increasingly popular and those with teenagers may opt to create two bedrooms on the upper level to give the youngsters their privacy and own space whilst others

may choose to create a peaceful sanctuary on this floor with a spacious master bedroom.”

As well as a choice of layout, buyers will also be able to select from a range of contemporary kitchens, bathrooms and tiling from Porcelanosa.

The home features integrated Smeg appliances, elevated ceiling heights and French doors leading out to a private rear turfed garden.

The surroundings of Regency Place is mature woodlands

and beautifully-designed and landscaped green corridors.

The development is close to Countesswells woodland and will include a new linear park, created to link up with existing core paths and parks which will provide seating, open vistas and views over the community, which is within easy reach – five miles – of Aberdeen.

Prices start from £320,995 and the Loanhead is priced from £399,995.
