Speed of madness

I thought I had strayed into a late April Fool story – Edinburgh City Council have thought up another “wheeze”, sorry “scheme”, to spend our council tax on. This seems to involve placing cardboard cut-outs of police officers in 20mph zones.

Obviously, the real thing have far more important duties. I presume these officers will be weatherproof, stable and do not cause any obstruction on the pavements.

Can we hope to see cardboard cutouts of councillors at the next elections? These would be silent and much cheaper on our pockets.
