Flagging support

While in broad agreement with the point made by Brian Monteith (Scotsman, 10 September) – that whatever kind of Brexit ensues, those seeking to break up the UK would be the greatest losers as the experience would be so traumatic no one would want another – he must remember that he was assuming he was dealing with logical and clearthinking people.

Unfortunately a quick glance at the face-painted, flag-waving marchers in the next SNP protest would remind him that these people are in short supply in the Nationalist ranks.

The vast majority are in fact a million miles away from being logical and clearly do not have the ability to think things through.
