Call for help

-

A woman with severe depression phoned the Samaritans from her bedside at a psychiatric hospital after staff told her it was too late for her to speak to a nurse.

Depression doesn’t just switch on and off! Unfortunately it’s there 24 hours a day, it doesn’t only work 9-5, I hope this lady got the help she needed and thank goodness the Samaritans were there when she needed them.

It’s great the Samaritans have the time to speak to people in their call centre. Wished it was like that in real life when you’re working on a ward with 16 people who all need your attention.

Lorna Lennie I’m not knocking nurses who do a fantastic job, but I know what depression is and am glad this lady thought to call Samaritans. Nurses can’t and don’t have the time – they are so overworked.
