Morton Positive move

- Andrew Ward

It’s a new era. Again. With the appointment of Jonatan Johansson as He Who Shall Not Be Named’s successor, the optimism around Greenock Morton seems to be filtering back.

It was a bold decision by the board of directors to appoint an individual with no head coach experience, but it has been greeted with positivity amongst the Greenock faithful.

With a squad of experience, youth and creativity already assembled in the summer, it should be a comfortable transition for the Finn who leaves Premiership side Rangers. The Greenock connection is strong with the 43-year-old having previously co-managed the club’s youth team, as well as marrying a Ton-supporting Port-weegian. Jonatan, the Ton are behind you.
