A new multi-use building is proposed for Dundee’s waterfront to act as a permanent new home for HMS Unicorn, the historic ship which spent her entire working life in the port, has been in Dundee for more than 130 years and out-dates most of the buildings in the city centre.

Built for the Royal Navy in the royal dockyard at Chatham and launched in 1824, she pent her early years in reserve in the south of England and was brought to Dundee in 1873 to serve as the reserve training ship for the Tay and carried out this function for nearly a century.
