Double act clinch fourth win on trot for Arsenal

- By COLIN STEWART

Unai Emery’s Arsenal revolution continued to build momentum as his usual suspects provided the goals to secure a fourth successive Premier League win at the expense of Everton.

Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring with a well-taken strike on 56 minutes, before Pierreemerick Aubameyang quickly added a second to seal the 2-0 win, although he was in an offside position as he tucked home.

It was the third time in the last five league games they have started together that both forwards have found the back of the net.

After losing the opening two games of his reign, Emery has been unbeaten since, although Everton will feel hard done by to leave the Emirates Stadium on the receiving end of a defeat.

Marco silva’s men had the better of the first half, with Richarlison, back in the team after a three-match ban, a threat for much of the opening 45 minutes.

Despite a decent display, Everton remain without a league win since the second week of the season and have not won a Premier League encounter at Arsenal since Andrei Kanchelskis scored the winner at Highbury in January 1996.

Chelsea’s perfect start to the season came to a halt as they were held to a 0-0 draw at West Ham.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were looking to join Liverpool at the top of the league on 18 points after six games, but were denied by a resilient and enterprising display from their derby hosts.

Not even Eden Hazard, back in the side after being rested in Europe in midweek, could find a way to break the deadlock.

Indeed it was West Ham who could, and probably should, have taken all three points after creating by far the clearer chances.

The hammers’ big opportunity to win it arrived 12 minutes from time when Robert Snodgrass looped in a cross but Andriy Yarmolenko somehow headed wide at the far post.
