#INDYREFMARCH

Thousands of people are expected to take part in a major Scottish independence demonstration in Edinburgh next month. The rally, which will take place on 6 October, has been described by organisers All Under One Banner as the “biggest independence demonstration in Scottish history”.

@AUOBSCOT wrote: “#Brexit is sinking us all down a black abysmal hole. Scotland shall be an Independent Nation, this much is guaranteed, but us Scots do not wish to see the people of England, Wales and N.ireland succumb to the deadly depths – So Rise up and let’s End Westminster Rule Forever”

@Jaymack18 tweeted: “Not again! No homes to go to?”

@2351onthelist said: “Don’t bother. Rabid separatists are not welcome in Edinburgh. We voted over 60% against separatism.”

@Grahamp58 said: “Make the commitment. Make the effort. Make it the biggest march yet. Make it impossible for the media to ignore us. JUST BE THERE!”

@Snpstudents posted: “We’ll be attending@ AUOBSCOT March and Rally for Independence in Edinburgh! Hope to see some of you there!” @dtaylor5633 stated: “I’m sure those that’ll march in Edinburgh will show Labour exactly what they think of them attempting to undemocratically block a vote on independence...”

#BREXIT

Labour is not ruling out an option to stay in the EU in a second Brexit referendum, Sir Keir Starmer told the party conference. The shadow Brexit Secretary won a lengthy standing ovation from Labour delegates for opening the door to the UK staying in the EU if the Opposition cannot force a general election.

@Remainernow said: “That’s great as many Leave voters have changed their minds and want a chance to #Stopbrexit now they see it’s nothing like they were promised.”

@clarah1ll stated: “Can you get a wriggle on? You only have six months.”

@Kullysamrah tweeted: “Can’t rule it out? It either is or isn’t. This again feels like pandering to the audience.”

@seanpowerjersey said of Starmer: “Probably if not definitely the most important man in the Labour Party and the House of Commons. Skillful diplomacy.”
