Dunfermline Athletic A better blend
Mild-mannered Allan Johnston showed his ruthless streak on Saturday. After the insipid match with Alloa, he revamped the team and reverted to a familiar 4-4-2.
The result was a free-flowing Pars attack, blending incisive passes with quality crosses from the midfield. We toasted Malaury Martin, with his awareness, positioning and composure, as he sprayed the ball around to considerable effect. Sadly, we bottled a rare Cappielow win, though, due to the Lee Robinson butterfingers moment. Partick Thistle travel as well as wine and a Pars win tomorrow would surely put the cork on a support in ferment. On a mild Saturday afternoon, 5,000-plus would have been anticipated. The TV cameras could halve that.
