Dundee Masking the problems
The manner of the defeat against Kilmarnock was the worst possible scenario. The furore surrounding Jordan Jones conning the referee into awarding the winning penalty masked a stodgy, ineffectual performance from Dundee. Yes, the team did come flying out the traps in the opening 10-15 minutes, but after Killie’s fortuitous equaliser we failed to create any chance of note.
Our team selection is like Whack-a-mole – just as one problem (our defence) is sorted, another (our attack) springs up. We inexplicably dropped Benjamin Kallman for Kenny Miller, who contributed very little. Most fans would prefer Miller, Elton Ngwatala and Adil Nabi as impact subs, but as we saw with our backline, it can take time (and injuries) for our managerial outfit to come to the same conclusions.
