Jewellery worth £30,000 stolen near busy road

Jewellery and other valuables worth around £30,000 have been stolen from a home in Aberdeensh­ire.

The theft happened on Sandyhill Road in Banff between 8am and 6pm on Wednesday.

Jewellery with “great sentimenta­l value”, including gold rings, bracelets, watches and necklaces, were taken.

Police Constable Sean Horne said: “This incident occurred during daylight hours on a fairly busy road in Banff. A white van was seen in the area at the time and the driver may have informatio­n that could be useful to us.”
