Husband in court over double murder
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his estranged wife and her lover, both found fatally stabbed at a house in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Rhys Hancock, 39, from Derbyshire, is accused of killing Helen Hancock, a teacher, and Martin Griffiths at the former marital home. Mr Griffiths was a father-of-two.
Hancock, who had three children – aged nine, four and three – with his wife, appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court for a 10-minute hearing yesterday.
