Bus roof sliced off in collision with bridge

The roof of a double decker bus has been sliced off after it hit a railway bridge.

The crash happened in Heathery Road in Wishaw, North Lanarkshir­e, at about 11.40am on Monday.

Firstbus said three passengers and the driver were downstairs at the time of the incident, with no reports of any injuries. Rail services were disrupted while the bridge was assessed by experts.

A Police spokesman said: “There are no reports of injuries and diversions are in place.”
