Feeling the burn: Photographer captures moment Highland cow enjoys a cooling splash

A Highland cow took a dip in a burn to cool down on a balmy summer’s day.

Evelyn Kelly, 69, was visiting Plockton in the Highlands with her husband Pat, 71, when she stopped off in nearby Duirinish to take a long awaited snap of a Highland cow cooling off.

The amateur photographer, from Perth, said she had always wanted to take a picture of a Highland cow up close and couldn’t resist when she got a chance on the morning of 10 August.

Delighted Evelyn said she felt Christmas had “come early” when she caught sight of the ginger haired animal.
