700 Edinburgh fans at Murrayfield but little to cheer as Glasgow win

-

An occasion that was most notable for the novelty of paying supporters in a sports stadium for the first time in Scotland since the coronavirus shutdown, Danny Wilson left celebrating his first win as Glasgow coach as they ran out 15- 3 winners over Edinburgh at BT Murrayfield.

Tries from skipper Fraser Brown and wing Ratu Tagive sealed the victory in the last round of the interrupted Guinness Pro14 season. Edinburgh now look ahead to a home semi- final at home to Ulster next Saturday.

Brown said: “It was probably important in how we build into the new season, which starts in five weeks.”

Edinburgh coach Richard Cockerill added: “We are going to try and win the tournament but we know Ulster are a great side. Tonight was a pretty poor game full stop.”
