Doc Martin to return for one final send-off

The forthcoming tenth series of Doc Mar tin will be the show’s last, ITV has confirmed.

Martin Clunes will hang up his stethoscope after 16 years as Dr Martin Ellingham – the bad-tempered, but well-loved Cornish GP.

Filming on series ten will begin in spring next year, with the drama airing on ITV later in 2021.

Created by screenwriter Dominic Minghella and set in the sleepy Cornish fishing village of Port wenn, Doc Mar tin first aired in 2004.

Speaking for Buffalo Pictures, C lu ne sand producer Philip pa B raith waite urged viewers to view the final series as a celebration.

They said: “The series has avid fans both in the UK and throughout the world ... however, after 16 years we now feel that the time has come to say goodbye to Portwenn.”
