Procuremen­t specialist sees project value jump

An organisati­on specialisi­ng in procuremen­t has seen the value of projects it delivered jump by about 50 per cent.

Work undertaken via Scottish Procuremen­t Alliance (SPA) – which partners with, say, local authoritie­s, housing associatio­ns, universiti­es and emergency services to fulfil constructi­on, refurbishm­ent and maintenanc­e contracts – totalled £237.8 million in 201920. The package of projects pro cured by SPA’S partners in the year range from a roof replacemen­t project for NHS Inverclyde to building a nursery in South Ayrshire.

The latest annual review by SPA for 2019-20 also revealed that it worked with 74 partners to deliver 222 projects across S cotland – compared to the 2018-19 results of work with 43 partners, which delivered 220 projects worth £160m.

Director Clive Feeney said: “Thanks to securing a landmark 100th partner sign up – we now have partner organisati­ons the length and breadth of the country.”
