Muir strikes again with season’s best in 800m win

Laura Muir set a season’s best time over 800 mat the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava as she won her fourth successive European event.

The Scot is in a rich vein of form, having also completed two successive subfour minute 1500m races.

Last night the 27 year old took the race to the rest of the field and finished in 1 min 58.84 secs, almost two seconds clear of Poland’s Sofia Ennaoui.

FellowS cot Jake Wight manse tan800m personal best of 1 min 44.18secs in winning the men’s event.

Laura Weight man of England and Scot Jemma Reekie finished second and third in the1500m. The British pair came in behind Olympic champion Faith Kipye gon, who comfortably finished first in 3mins 59.05secs in the Czech Republic.
