Turn it down
The ban on background music being played in hospitality venues, introduced by the Scottish Government to reduce the risk of people spreading coronavirus from shouting at each other, has incurred the wrath of some Scottish pub-goers.
They should count their blessings. We Sassenachs can only dream of enjoying a drink where we can hear ourselves think, and where what we are saying can be heard, as pubs without non-stop music are now all but extinct.
