Wood secures £33m Norwegian contract

Aberdeen-based energy and engineerin­g services heavyweigh­t Wood has secured a $42 million (£33m) contract to upgrade the Kollsnes gas processing plant in Norway.

The agreement, won from energy giant Equinor on behalf of operator Gassco, will see Wood supply engineerin­g, procuremen­t, constructi­on and installati­on services. The upgrade project is scheduled to complete in 2023. Wood said the award strengthen­s its position as a contractor in the developmen­t and upgrades of critical onshore energy infrastruc­ture, building on recently awarded modificati­on scopes for Equinor at the Mongstad refinery.
