Wood secures £33m Norwegian contract
Aberdeen-based energy and engineering services heavyweight Wood has secured a $42 million (£33m) contract to upgrade the Kollsnes gas processing plant in Norway.
The agreement, won from energy giant Equinor on behalf of operator Gassco, will see Wood supply engineering, procurement, construction and installation services. The upgrade project is scheduled to complete in 2023. Wood said the award strengthens its position as a contractor in the development and upgrades of critical onshore energy infrastructure, building on recently awarded modification scopes for Equinor at the Mongstad refinery.
Dave Stewart, chief executive of Wood’s Asset Solutions business in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, praised the contract continuing its long-term, global relationship with Equinor. This award supports our strategic focus on strengthening our position in the onshore energy market in Norway.”
