SNP Princess in bid for Star Wars billing

-

ALWAYS keen to share in celebrity, Miss Sturgeon posed for pictures with a large portrait of Carrie Fisher, left, as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series which featured on a set of stamps issued by the Royal Mail, now celebrating 500 years of delivering letters. But if Miss Sturgeon is the SNP’s Princess, who should be Darth Vader, Leia’s evil father who went to the bad? Could be a job for Alex Salmond...

KEEN to shed its image as the Scottish Nasty Party, the SNP was meant to have taken action against members such as Piers Doughty-Brown, suspended for being part of a baying mob bawling ‘Red Tories out!’ at Labour’s Jim Murphy on the 2015 general election trail. But this kind of behaviour now seems to be condoned, with Mr Doughty-Brown wandering around the conference unchallenged.

STALLS at the SNP conference included Friends Of The Middle East, complete with Israeli flag, and Friends Of Palestine. To prevent any conflagrations, organisers diplomatically placed the Fire Brigades Union stall between them.
