GOODNESS,

-

motherhood is complicated and controversial. We coo over Beyoncé and Amal Clooney, who are both pregnant with twins, but tut that Madonna has added a pair of trophy twin girls from Malawi to her variegated litter. Meanwhile, Tamara Ecclestone is being trolled for continuing to nurse her toddler Sophia, who is three next month. In revenge, she has released Marie Antoinette-style snaps – including the example here – to silence the ‘haters’ and celebrate her intimate bond with her daughter. It’s all so exhausting. When women have babies, in whatever shape or form, I just wish that everyone could remember Rudyard Kipling words: ‘God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.’
