Prince’s £150m split between six siblings
THE £150million estate of pop singer Prince has been allocated to six members of his family.
An American judge has ruled that the Purple Rain star’s sister Tyka Nelson and his five halfsiblings – Sharon Nelson, Norrine Nelson, John R. Nelson, Omarr Baker and Alfred Jackson – should be officially declared as his heirs.
Prince failed to prepare a will before his death caused by an accidental overdose of the painkiller Fentanyl in April 2016. Almost half the money he left will go to the taxman but experts say publishing royalties and plans to turn his Paisley Park home in Minneapolis into a museum could generate tens of millions of pounds in future.
More than 40 people came forward after Prince’s death to claim part of his fortune.
