Petra’s wiping James right out of her lair!

The Scottish Mail on Sunday - - Femail -

THEY are already at the centre of a bitter divorce battle but is Petra Ecclestone also determined to erase all memories of husband James Stunt?

The couple bought their historic 300-year-old home in Chelsea for £56million in 2011 and set about putting their own stamp on the mansion.

But in the wake of their separation, the daughter of billionaire Formula 1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone is refurbishing the Grade II listed house once again. According to one source, Petra, 28, is determined to rip out all traces of James, inset right, and his questionable taste in decor.

Last week builders were seen working at the property late into the night, and neighbours report that the windows have been protected with masking tape and newspaper.

I can report that Petra is currently living with her three children in a serviced apartment building where properties in the block start at £5,500 a week to rent but perhaps she considers it a small price to pay to wash James, 35, out of her blonde hair.

The Chelsea home has not always been a happy one for Petra, right. Refurbishment work took longer than expected, angering neighbours in the process. And last year, someone threw a petrol bomb over the wall, reportedly in protest at their lifestyle.

A spokesman for Petra said the workmen’s presence was due to ‘household repairs’.
