WHY ARE GREY HAIRS THICKER THAN OTHERS?
Hair transplant surgeon Bessam Farjo, director of London’s Farjo Clinic, says: ‘It’s a common misconception that grey hairs are thicker, but they’re not. One explanation is that they feel coarser due to dryness. As the hair ages, it becomes more easily dehydrated. As we age we also produce less sebum, and this dries it out even more. Good hair care and a good diet should help.’
