Embarrassment over his family firm’s failure to pay the living wage led to the Glasgow MSP relinquishing almost £5 million in shares and publishing his tax return – but forgetting to redact personal details. Mr Sarwar called his bank in case he fell victim to fraud, but this led to his card being rejected at McDonald’s while trying to buy Happy Meals for his children. Dog hopes said children, who stand to inherit his shares, coughed up.
