Julianne Moore: I can’t bear the thought of ‘President Clooney’
SHE counts George Clooney as a close friend and stars in his new film, but Julianne Moore has some brutally honest advice for the Hollywood A-lister: Stay away from politics.
There has been speculation that Clooney will one day run for the White House. But Julianne, right, who stars in Clooney’s Suburbicon, says: ‘I can’t bear it, this idea of relating leaders with entertainment figures. What you want is a president who is experienced in government. I don’t even want to joke about movie stars being president of the US.’
While Julianne, 56 – whose mum was from Greenock – is against any political ambitions Clooney might have, she is full of admiration for his role as a husband and father of twins.
Referring to his marriage to human-rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, she says: ‘You can see the difference in his personality, how settled he seems… he adores Amal.’
