A hall that fits five buses – that’s a very long lunch

The Scottish Mail on Sunday - - Femail -

THE lunchtime reception will be hosted by the Queen in the 180ft-long St George’s Hall at Windsor, used for glittering state banquets. The hall is long enough to fit in five doubledecker buses, so there will be plenty of room for the 600 guests who will come there from the chapel. The cake, designed by Claire Ptak of East London bakery Violet Cakes, is a lemon and elderflower sponge covered with buttercream and fresh spring flowers. Kent’s Chapel Down winery is said to be providing the wine, with catering company Table Talk believed to be in charge of the food.
