FITNESS FANS WILL SAVE CASH AS LEISURE CENTRE REOPENS
THOUSANDS of gym members will save up to £57 when a town centre leisure centre reopens – to thank them for their patience.
The deal is being offered to 2,500 Jubilee2 gym-goers – who pay their monthly or annual subscriptions by direct debit. They will not be charged for August and will then pay just 50 per cent of the fee in September.
And annual subscriptions are being extended to cover the whole of the Newcastle leisure centre’s coronavirus shutdown – plus an extra six weeks.
Key dates for the centre’s reopening include:
The gym opens on July 25. It will operate from 9am to 4pm and sessions must be booked in advance;
The centre opens for exercise and dance classes between 8am and 8pm from August 3;
Swimming – in lanes only – will be allowed from August 3.
Councillor Jill Waring, cabinet member for leisure, said: “Getting back to the gym or going for a swim are so important for our residents and their families and very much a sign of life getting back to normal, albeit with new safety measures in place.”
